Andy Miller graduated with honors from the Industrial Design Degree Program at Humber College. She also holds a BA in Sociology & Social Anthropology from Dalhousie University. As a design educator Andy brings the tools to the classroom needed to promote the art of puppet building, product design, stage makeup, and set design to students as well as educators.
As a Freelance Designer and collaborative artist Andy’s recent work has included both graphic and industrial branding, packaging, and conceptual art. Most recently Andy worked as a design Associate for the Canadian Opera Company developing, coordinating and running workshops for Summer Opera Camp, Create-An-Opera, and After School Programming. Additional workshops have included; teaching design in Algoma for the Fall Festival with collaborating schools to create a staged opera for the festivals main stage; working with the Toronto Police to facilitate design workshops for at risk youth in the G.T.A., as well as working with teachers as part of the COC’s Programs For Educators workshops. Andy’s experience as a teacher and artist began over 7 years ago working for Shadowland Theatre on Toronto Island. She has since gone on to teach classes and workshops to both students and teachers across Ontario.
Recent clients have included; Carnation, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada, Makita Hack, Safety Frameworks, Simple Ergonomics, Toronto Office Furniture (TOFI), Tim Horton’s, and Yotrio International LLC.
